Position Overview:
As a Cook you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the preparation of food in various settings within a retail grocery store environment. You will play a key role in creating and executing menus, managing staff and ensuring the quality and presentation of dishes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promoting a positive shopping experience for customers while maintaining a well-organized visually appealing produce department
Monitor the quality and freshness of meals produced to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
Ensuring proper handling, storage and rotation of meals to minimize waste and maintain optimal quality
Creating and developing innovative menus that meet the preferences of the target audience
Staying up to date with culinary trends, ingredients and techniques to enhance menus
Monitoring portion sizes and over all consistency of all foods in production
Monitor and manage the kitchen inventory which includes but is not limited to ordering ingredients, controlling stock and minimizing waste
Address customer complaints or concerns in a timely manner with professionalism to ensure continued customer satisfaction
Implement cost effective measures to optimize kitchen expenses
Provide ongoing coaching, performance management and feedback to encourage growth and development
Ensure and adhere to health and safety regulations, including but not limited to proper handling of produce, sanitation and safe use of equipment
Implement and enforce cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations
Adhere to all company safety standards
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Servesafe standard refrigeration temperature.

Weekday and Weekend hours as needed.
Experience:
Preferred: One (1) year culinary experience or relevant experience
ServeSafe certification or comparable
Deli department experience

Cycling out product to maintain fresh dates
Skills:
Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc.
Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
