Risk Management Intern (Summer 2025) - Wye River Insurance

Bozzuto & Associates and Wye River Insurance have a summer opportunity (June 2nd through August 8th) for an aspiring Insurance Professional interested in Real Estate, Development and Construction, to assist our Wye River and Bozzuto teams in all aspects of the insurance and development process for complex urban development projects. Working closely with the leadership team, the intern will contribute to projects related to all phases of insurance and development including zoning, entitlements, design, permitting, construction, leasing, and disposition.

The internship position will be based out of the Baltimore County office in Quarry Lake with the opportunity for travel to Bozzuto managed mixed-use properties and to the Bozzuto headquarters in Greenbelt MD.

As a Risk Management Intern, your primary responsibilities and learning objectives include:

• Assist in the preparation of insurance and risk management proposals and presentations for new business pitches.
• Assist the Wye River Sales Division with company research, creating loss summaries, reviewing and checking policies and insurance certificates as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of insurance estimates for development and construction projects, monitoring budgets, including preparation of statement of values, exposure workbooks and applications.
• Assist with mixed-use property inspections of exterior grounds, common areas, public parking garages, retail service areas and retail storefronts AND with generating written inspection reports.
• Assist in obtaining insurance quotes and attend meetings with insureds, prospects and underwriters to negotiate outstanding issues.
  
  

What You Bring To Us

• Currently enrolled in a BA/BS program in business with a concentration in insurance and risk management.
• Interest in the Property Management and/or Real Estate industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Word, and Excel skills a plus.
• Experience with EPIC is a plus.
• Solid Project management and time management skills needed to ensure deadlines are met.
• Ability to perform quickly, accurately, and effectively with close attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
  

Salary Range

$22—$23 USD
