Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geoscientist to join our Eagle Ford Development team within BP Energy. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting a multi-rig program by leveraging your expertise in operations, development planning, well planning, and petrophysics.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify optimization opportunities and appraisal strategies that increase hydrocarbon reserves and production output
- Support surveillance data acquisition planning/execution/interpretation to include assessment of new technology and cost-efficient data acquisition
- Execute geological operations, including communication with third-party geo-steerers, mudlogging vendors, rig personnel, and drilling personnel; integration of geological and geophysical data; and correlation of drilling events with subsurface anomalies/features
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geology or related field
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience in unconventional reservoirs
- Advanced mapping skills/interpretation, play assessment, evaluation planning, petrophysics interpretation, exploration, data analytics, project management, operational execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Operations and/or geosteering experience
- Familiarity with reservoir, drilling, and completions engineering
- Expertise with geoscience interpretation software (Petrel preferred) and geo-steering software (StarSteer preferred)
