What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at BPD Management?
BDP Management is looking to add a Staff Accountant to the team. This individual will assist the Accounting Department with general accounting operations. This role will work to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks. This position will report to the Controller and engage regularly with the Accounting and Finance Staff.
Responsibilities:
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable
- Assist with monthly sales entries
- Produce error-free accounting reports
- Post general ledger journal entries
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Assist with preparation and filing of sales tax reports
- Track fixed assets
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Bank reconciliation
- Track prepaid expenses
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements-Preferences
- 1 to 3 years of experience as staff accountant
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close
- process
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
- MS Excel skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
