About the Role
The mission of the Dearborn Next Program is for all Dearborn students to be engaged citizens prepared to enter a purposeful, wealth-building career six years after high school graduation. To be successful in its mission, the Dearborn Next Program needs to know where each alum is in their trajectory and be able to support them in accomplishing their goals. The Post-Secondary Advisor plays a critical role in
this process by serving as the link between the Dearborn Next Program offerings and an individual alum’s needs. The Post-Secondary Advisor is the coach, mentor, connector, advisor, and advocate for a caseload of DSA alumni. This position is a .5 FTE role.
Responsibilities
The Post-Secondary Advisor meets regularly with each of their alumni to connect, check in on their progress toward their goals, and problem-solve together. Throughout their relationship, the Advisor listens deeply, offers support wherever possible, and routinely connects their alumni with the tools, resources, individuals, and opportunities that can support them on their journey.
The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Advising:
Conduct regular coaching meetings with alumni to support them toward their educational, financial, professional, and personal goals.
Connect alumni continuously and relentlessly with the specific Dearborn Next programming and resources that meet their needs and support their educational, financial, professional, and personal goals.
Monitor and document, at a high level, each alumni’s progress toward their goals.
Collaborate with the Dearborn Next Team to share emerging best practices, wrestle with problems of practice, and collaborate around individual and cohort-based alumni needs.
Programmatic:
Conduct 1-1 Interviews and small group meetings with all members of the graduating class to discuss their future plans, set goals, introduce them to the Dearborn Next Program, connect them with the Dearborn Next online tools, and capture key information so graduates can stay connected and supported as they and the Advisor enter into their Post-Secondary Advising relationship together.
Plan and execute monthly community-building and professional, personal development events for Grads.
Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Peer Ambassadors.
Represent Dearborn Next at school, community, career, and higher education-based events.
Collaborate with Dearborn Next staff around programmatic design
Implement Dearborn Next’s tracking and engagement systems in Salesforce.
Engage in quarterly program data reflection.

Compensation
The salary range for a 0.5 FTE Post-Secondary Advisor is $27,500 - $30,000, prorated from $55,000 - $60,000 for 1.0.
Location
BPE’s office is located in Roxbury, MA. Our hybrid work policy for non-school-based staff includes in-person (on-site) and remote days.
