Arrowhead Winch engineers and manufactures industrial winch, hoist and drive systems under the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brand names in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. We are seeking talented individuals to join our team on 2nd shift. The Multi-Gear Machinist hours are Monday - Friday 3:00p.m. - 11:00p.m. with occasional overtime. Responsibilities of the Multi Gear Machinist
- Performs machine set-up on two or more gear machines. These machines types are Fellows, Mitsubishi or Barbara-Colman Machines.
- Read and understand blueprints and detailed worksheets, and perform mathematical calculations required in the association with the blueprint and work instructions.
- Perform both simple and complex machining operations to produce gears that meet tolerances as specified
- Complete required paperwork associated quality and the production of parts
- Use inspection equipment to inspect parts for quality and specifications
- Deburr parts machined when applicable
- Performs daily/weekly checks of machine conditions such as oil levels, pressures, etc.
- Prepare parts for next operation (Internal or external)
- Record labor into production management system
- And other duties as assigned
Desired Skills:
- Acquire some personal tools as necessary to perform machinist work.
- Can perform machining operations on various machines with minimal assistance.
- Has understanding of machine tool feed and speed concepts as related to the machining of most common materials.
- Has experience and knowledge of setup procedures and techniques applicable to gear cutting machines.
- Is capable of using multiple types of inspection equipment to check parts machined.
- Basic computer skills required for the accurate recording of labor.
- Must actively demonstrate good housekeeping practices in the work area as well as the entire facility.
- Must be able to use material handling equipment to pull and position parts and materials necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school or GED
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Wear any safety equipment as may be required.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
- Push and pull a maximum 75 pounds peak force
- Stand and walk on cement floor 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Repeated bending up to 90% of the time, squatting and kneeling on one or both knees
- Bend forward at the waist and hold hands above head
- Good manual dexterity with both hands
- Hear and understand verbal instructions
- Good hand and foot coordination
- Safely operate machinery with moving and/or cutting edges.
