JOB DESCRIPTION

BPG is looking for a self-motivated, hard-working individual to provide Safety management for all divisions of BPG Designs, LLC.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for all facets of the BPG Safety Program.

The key roles include the following:

  • Risk Management
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Policy Development and Training
  • Emergency Response & Investigations
  • Workers Compensation Claim Management

DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS

The duties of this position are listed below. These duties help define clearer expectations for this position but are not intended to detail all tasks.

  • Conducts accident investigations, post-accident drug screening requests, and other overall duties related to investigations and incident mitigation.
  • Develops, writes, and presents findings, conclusions, and results of investigations.
  • Proposes, as required, training programs, procedures, policies, and/or other items needed to maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Conducts unscheduled and/or regular walk-through inspections of project job sites, office and yard.
  • Provides training on general and specific safety/risk management subjects to all levels of the company.
  • Attends weekly, monthly, and quarterly department meetings to present safety topics.
  • Establish and lead Safety Committee quarterly meetings.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of toolbox talks and maintains the program to ensure compliance and accuracy of the topics.
  • Inspects and assigns job site PPE and other work-related tools and equipment for proper suitability for use.
  • Performs new hire training as it relates to safety and risk management.
  • Completes other jobs and/or project related assignments, as necessary.
  • Acts as liaison for agencies such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, DOL and BLS.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience
  • ASP or CSP designation preferred
  • OSHA 510 & 500 preferred
  • CPR/First-Aid AED
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must have excellent time management skills and work habits

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
