What are the responsibilities and job description for the Repair Shop Manager position at BPG LLC dba J-Tech?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of repairing Customer and J-Tech vehicles and Equipment.
- Assess repair needs, and provide accurate cost estimates.
- Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
- Supervise quality performance, safety, and turnaround time.
- Communicate repair progress updates and address concerns.
- Train and support employees in procedures and expectations.
- Counsel employees on performance issues when necessary.
- Responsible for the quality of all repairs performed by his/her team.
- Directs workers in problem solving machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
- Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process modifications and may recommend product or service modification.
- Schedules work, assists with employee selection and reviews employee performance.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances
Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of the repair process for the specific type of equipment or vehicles the shop services.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma required and 5 years’ experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, be able to pass an insurance background check, and the ability to obtain a medical DOT card.
Wage based on skill set and experience
Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm
40 hours a week
