Overview
Ensure efficient daily scheduling of production equipment to meet customer requirements while being mindful of controlling cost. Interact with all production departments as well as support departments, administrative staff, and the Plant Leadership team.
Duties
- Schedule Manufacturing Equipment: Ensure daily production schedules are developed to meet both short- and long-term production goals, fulfilling customer orders on time.
- Coordinate with Coral & Customer Service: Work closely with the Coral team and Customer Service to ensure components are delivered on time, adjusting schedules as necessary to meet customer needs.
- Monitor Production vs. Plan: Track actual production against the planned schedule and adjust to maintain an efficient flow of products through the plant.
- Manage Staffing Needs: Review production plans with a focus on staffing needs and constraints, ensuring all equipment runs as scheduled. Work with supervisors and Plant Leadership to cover staffing while controlling overtime costs.
- Oversee Bindery Staffing: Ensure proper task allocation on equipment and assign the best crew members for efficient production. Create and distribute weekly staffing sheets with input from Bindery supervisors and area leaders.
- Capacity Planning: Determine weekly production capacity and distribute the plan to the Plant Leadership team. Participate in weekly meetings to align all parties on the production schedule.
- Coordinate Downtime Requests: Work with the Plant Leadership and Production Support teams to coordinate downtime while prioritizing customer needs and ensuring safety.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Participate in conference calls and meetings with external customers, as well as internal and external team members across production plants, to ensure alignment on production schedules and expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in scheduling or a related field within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
