About the Role
BPR Consulting Group is seeking a highly experienced and certified Building Official/Senior Building Inspector to lead our growing team in San Joaquin County.
The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and maintain professional relationships with clients, coworkers, and permit applicants.
- Manages Building Department operations for an assigned client agency.
- Applies knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Consults with engineers, architects, developers, contractors, and the public on construction and building code issues.
- Plans review of minor projects for residential and commercial buildings, alterations, remodels, and additions.
- Performs field inspections on all phases of residential and commercial construction.
- Creates and maintains reports, plan review files, and inspection logs for all building projects.
- Maintains clients' permitting database.
Requirements
- Five plus years as a building official or building inspector for a local or state fire or building department or equivalent related experience.
- Must possess knowledge and application of plan review and construction processes.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of building codes.
- Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
- Good driving record.
