Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled building official to join our team and manage building department operations for one of our key clients in the San Joaquin County area.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage building department operations for assigned client agencies
- Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions
- Consult with engineers, architects, developers, contractors, and the public on construction and building code issues
- Perform field inspections on all phases of residential and commercial construction
Essential Duties:
- Plan review of minor projects for residential and commercial buildings, alterations, remodels, and additions
- Issue Certificates of Occupancy for completed projects
- Create and maintain reports, plan review files, and inspection logs for all building projects
- Maintain clients' permitting database
