As a Deputy Building Official / Senior Building Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Building Department for an assigned client agency.
- Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency in departmental functions.
- Provide expert guidance on construction and building code issues to engineers, architects, developers, contractors, and the public.
- Perform field inspections on all phases of residential and commercial construction to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Issue Certificates of Occupancy for completed projects and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- Five (5) plus years of experience as a building official or building inspector for a local or state fire or building department or equivalent related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes and ability to apply them effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, coworkers, and permit applicants.
- ICC Certified Building Official certification and ICC Inspector certifications preferred.
