What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate I - Cell Based Assay Development position at BPS Bioscience?
Job Overview:
BPS Bioscience is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated person to fill a full-time position within the Cell Culture team. The Research Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Cell Culture team, routine lab maintenance, and conducting quality control experiments.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with daily order shipments, kit assembly, documentation, and other shipping activities
- Manufacture products with high precision according to standardized procedures
- Maintain careful documentation of Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Shipment activity in paper and electronic logs
- Aseptic technique and tissue culture in BSL2 laboratory
- Conduct cell-based bioassays for quality control purposes
- Purification of plasmids from large E. coli samples
- Label bottles and vials in accordance with company marketing guidelines
- Maintain inventory of all laboratory consumables, purchase and track orders, follow up on missing items, receive items, and restock lab
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment, including incubators and water baths
- Maintain stocks of manufactured items, including DNA gels, LB broth, autoclaved tips
- Refill pipette tip boxes, run autoclave, and remove items from autoclave area
Requirements:
- Prior laboratory experience of at least 1 year
- Strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or similar field
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors in a highly dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem solving and critical-thinking skills
- Focused and self-motivated
