What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at BPWS?
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all participants in and around the pool area
- Create a positive and welcoming environment for swimmers
- Monitor and evaluate swimmers' progress and provide feedback for improvement
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for all
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard certification from American Red Cross required; or must be willing to obtain within 15 days of hire.
- 1 years previous experience as a lifeguard required.
- 1 year of prior swim instructor experienced preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with swimmers and parents/guardians
- Knowledge of swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects, such as pool equipment or supplies, as needed
- Basic knowledge of pool maintenance, including cleaning and chemical balance
- CPR and First Aid certification
