Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our CNC machine shop operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and a proven track record in implementing lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of the CNC machine shop, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective production.
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize workflow.
Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement:
- Champion lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
- Utilize methodologies such as ^S and Kaizen to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled machinists and support staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes.
Safety Compliance:
- Uphold all health and safety regulations, creating a safe and positive work environment for all staff.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Resource Management:
- Manage resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Oversee maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Proficiency in production planning software and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems – JobBOSS.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations within a machining environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with plant maintenance and TPM for critical machines
- Must be a US citizen for ITAR purposes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Experience with CNC programming and machining techniques.
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
