Job Overview
The Manufacturing Technician will fabricate and assemble composite parts using resins, fiberglass, carbon fabrics, structural adhesives, rivets, and threaded and blind fasteners; or perform operations such as trimming, drilling, sanding, and painting of composites; or set and operate resin transfer molding machines and ovens in the processing area, The manufacturing technician performs all duties in compliance with MSP ME-001 to establish controls and responsibilities relative maintaining a suitable environment for the fabrication of composite structures.
Duties
- All technicians follow and accurately complete work orders for assemblies.
- Layup Manufacturing Technicians are trained on specific program parts using the SWO to develop their competencies:
- Cuts fiberglass or carbon material to size, following templates or blueprints, using scissors, or Knife
- Marks identifying information on material and assembles material in kits for subsequent laminating
- Applies layers of dry or impregnated cloth onto mold fixture in pre-determined ply sequence and press cloth to fit contours of mold, smooth surface, and remove air pockets and using squeegee, scraper, spatula, and/or other tools
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience
