Pivot Technician

Description

Hall Farms, LLC is seeking a highly experience Pivot Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance:

   • Conduct routine inspections of pivot systems to identify wear, damage, or potential issues.
   • Perform preventative maintenance, including lubricating components, adjusting alignment, and replacing parts as needed.
   • Have extensive knowledge of Zimmatic Pivots, Reinke and Valley Corner Arms.  

2. Troubleshooting and Repair:

   • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in pivot systems.
   • Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.

3. Electrical Systems:

   • Test and repair wiring, control panels, and electrical motors associated with pivot systems.
   • Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety regulations.

4. Operational Efficiency:

   • Monitor irrigation schedules and system performance to ensure proper water distribution.
   • Provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing water and energy consumption.

5. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to all safety guidelines while working with heavy equipment and electrical systems.
   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and system configurations.

6. Team Collaboration:

   • Work closely with farm management and other team members to coordinate irrigation activities.
   • Train other farm staff on the proper use and care of pivot systems.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
• At least 4 years experience in pivot irrigation systems or related mechanical/electrical fields.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, control panels, and hydraulic components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency in using tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Bilingual preferred.

Work Environment:

• Majority of work performed outdoors on farmland.
• Ability to work long hours during peak seasons.
• Regular exposure to heavy machinery, moving parts, and potentially hazardous material
• Some on-call responsibilities may be required for emergency repair
