Part-Time Medical Receptionist:
We are hiring for a part-time position with flexible hours to help cover in the afternoon and evening hours. We are a small, fast-paced medical office, looking for professional, reliable, customer-oriented individuals to join our team. Our front office medical receptionist is the practice’s initial point of contact for our patients and their families. The candidate must have extraordinary interpersonal communication skills; be friendly and warm, extremely organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and adaptable; be able to work and remain on task in an environment with frequent interruptions; be technologically savvy; have a working knowledge of current procedural terminology (CPT) and diagnostic coding as well as medical terminology; and maintain patient confidentiality including PHI as per HIPAA guidelines.
This position would help cover the front desk and daily administrative tasks. We are looking for someone to help cover in the afternoons till close. We are currently looking at a schedule of Monday: 2pm-7pm, Tuesday: 2pm-9pm, Wednesday: 2pm-7pm, Thursdays: 2pm-6pm, and Fridays 12:30pm-4:30pm.
Responsibilities/Requirements:
1. Professionally greet and appropriately direct/assist patients and individuals coming into our office as well as manage the main and child waiting rooms;
2. Answer, screen, address, and route incoming telephone calls on a multi-line phone system;
3. Check patients in/out by processing appropriate paperwork, patient payments and account balances, writing receipts, etc.;
4. Schedule and manage appointments using WellSky Scheduling for seven clinicians;
5. Track patient appointments by using a wait list and recall list;
6. Make daily confirmation/reminder calls for scheduled appointments;
7. Maintain and update patient demographic information;
8. Transmit documents as needed to support paperwork flow;
9. Photocopy and maintain office forms;
10. Manage daily general filing;
11. Sort and send mail;
12. Secure daily collections as well as petty cash;
13. Prioritize work according to importance, deadlines, and clinicians’ needs;
14. Comply with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations;
15. Have extraordinary interpersonal communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset;
16. Have a sharp eye for detail as well as active listening and critical thinking skills;
17. Have excellent clerical, organizational, and time management skills;
18. Have initiative and be able to work independently;
19. Have the ability to remain on task in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions;
20. Have a working knowledge of current procedural terminology (CPT) and diagnostic coding as well as medical terminology;
21. Have a working knowledge of computers including MS Word and the ability to accurately type 50 word per minute;
22. Have personal integrity, be flexible, and have the ability to function effectively as a team member;
23. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
Four years of medical office/medical receptionist experience preferred.
