What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach & Events Manager position at Brad S Friedmann DO?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Outreach & Events Manager is responsible for creating and managing outreach initiatives to promote the organization’s mission, increase community engagement, and establish meaningful relationships with volunteers and donors. This position requires a strong communicator who can build connections, organize events, and coordinate campaigns to enhance the organization’s visibility and impact in the community.
ABOUT A KID AGAIN:
A Kid Again fosters hope, happiness, and healing for kids with life-threatening conditions and their families. We do this through our Adventures – cost-free, care-free visits to amusement parks, sporting events, museums, holiday parties, and much more. We are condition agnostic – any child, birth to age 20, with a life-threatening condition can enroll for free with A Kid Again. And we serve their whole family including their parents and siblings, so that they can all take a time out from illness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, companies, and individuals to promote and engage with the organization’s mission and programs. This position will attend all in-person family events in the Detroit-area as the on-site event coordinator for volunteers and families in attendance.
Event Planning, Coordination & Fundraising: Working with the Executive Director, this individual will coordinate and plan the logistics for local fundraising events while also securing lower-level sponsorships and donors. This includes prospecting and soliciting donors, organizing and working with volunteers, securing auction items (where applicable), handling invites and guest communications, managing vendor relationships, securing signage and ensuring proper donor recognition.
Third Party Event Coordination: This individual will identify new partners to host fundraising events for the chapter and will ensure they are properly supported. This individual will also be responsible for securing volunteers needed to "staff" events where A Kid Again is the recipient of support or is present to promote its mission. This includes raffle volunteers and "tabling" at community events.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers in the Detroit-area for committees and day-of event support. Build and maintain relationships for on-going engagement.
Communications: Manage local social media sites, sharing family impact stories, engaging volunteers and recognizing donors.
Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate new partnerships with local businesses and organizations to secure volunteer support for events and engage with the mission.
