What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior AML Underwriter position at Bradesco Bank?

Primary Responsibilities: include assisting the Correspondent Banking Coordinator and Department Manager to direct the FCB AML/CFT Compliance Monitoring Program. This ensures there are sufficient internal controls to promote an effective control environment and prioritizes focus toward areas identified as having the highest levels of risk to the Bank.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in directing the FCB AML/CFT Compliance Monitoring Program to ensure effective control environments and identify high-risk areas.
- Follows up on pending matters related to AML internal and external audits to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Conducts on-site visits and remote site visits of high-risk foreign financial institutions as required.
- Reviews, assesses, and approves the adequacy of Anti-Money Laundering programs of Correspondent Bank clients, including transactional, credit only, and/or IBDDA relationships.
- Assigns a risk rating for correspondent AML programs and Bradesco Bank's relationship with the subject, recommending identifying areas of need for improvement and implementing remediations as needed.
- Assists in the annual Enhanced Due Diligence documentation review of high-risk C&I and Broker Dealer clients assigned by the International Correspondent Coordinator.
- Oversees various correspondent banking products, including Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), trade finance, currency transaction reporting, and suspicious activity investigations.
- Supports Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) for reporting to FinCEN and Risk Committee as needed, in coordination with High-Risk/Investigations.
- Supports daily monitoring of potential OFAC matches in coordination with the OFAC desk.
- Serves as a backup for the Correspondent Banking Coordinator.
- Assists in addressing and investigating exceptions for FCBs as required.
- Completes special projects delegated by the Correspondent Banking Coordinator or Department Manager as required.
- Maintains or creates metrics and logs for KPIs and KRIs within the unit.
- Serves as a backup for functions performed by direct reports of the International Correspondent Coordinator.
- E nsures the unit adheres to SLAs.
- Performs research and negative news searches, online searches, and subscription-based resources when reviewing customer account activity.
- Recommends process improvements regarding 'best practices' or efficiency gains.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required or Master's degree in a relevant field preferred; education may be substituted with extensive banking compliance experience and knowledge.
- 5 years of related experience and/or training in international Correspondent Banking Underwriting, including extensive AML/CFT/OFAC Compliance knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Professional designation preferred (CAMS, AML-CI, etc.).
Language Skills:
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with proficiency in Portuguese preferred.
