What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Underwriter | AML Correspondent Banking position at Bradesco Bank?

All job responsibilities must be carried out according to Federal/State regulations, in adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and in Compliance with the AML/CFT/OFAC program.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and approves new or existing Correspondent Banking relationships via thorough underwriting process to include adherence to AML/CFT guidelines and recommends actions
- Identify and assess risk, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for efficient and effective risk coverage. This includes assistance in the development existing analytics tools and execution of periodic reviews in a timely manner
- Assists in follow up and ensures pending matters related to AML/CFT internal and external audits are resolved in a timely manner.
- Assists with on-site visits to High-Risk customers and/or Remote Site Visits, as required.
- Responsible for identifying the correspondent’s areas needing improvement and following-up on adequate remediation plans.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving Correspondent Banking analysts’ risk assessment evaluations to either Onboard new correspondents as Credit Only and/or IBDDA (Deposit Gathering) Only relationships.
- Responsible for completing or assisting in the annual Enhanced Due Diligence documentation review of all High-risk C&I, and Broker Dealer clients.
- Assists in the oversight of all functional areas with respect to various correspondent banking products such as Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), trade finance, currency transaction reporting and suspicious activity investigations,
- Supports the BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC Manager in the process of daily monitoring of potential OFAC matches.
- Assists in maintaining, developing, and amending AML/CFT policies and procedures, as required related to correspondent banking.
- Serves as back up for the functions performed by the unit.
- Assists the AML Department in addressing and investigating Assist exceptions, as required.
- Special projects as delegated by the Department Manager or as required.
- Assists or creates metrics and logs for KPI (Key Performance Indicators) & KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) within the unit.
- Makes sure the unit adheres to SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- May Perform research and negative news searches, online searches, and subscription-based resources when reviewing a customer’s account activity.
- Recommend process improvements regarding “Best Practices” or efficiency gains.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required or Master's Degree in relevant field preferred; education may be substituted with extensive banking compliance experience and knowledge.
- 5 years related experience and/or training in international Correspondent Banking Underwriting to include extensive AML/CFT/OFAC Compliance knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Professional designation preferred (CAMS, AML-CI, etc.)
Language Skills:
- Speak, read, and write English & Spanish (Fluent).
- Portuguese (Preferred).
