Bus Driver
Full Time/Part Time- 180 Day
Hours: 4-6 per day
Split Schedule
All Candidates are required to pass background checks and DOT physical.
Pay: $22.39

Drives bus and other vehicles as required to transport students over specified routes to local and distant points according to time schedules by performing the following duties.
Completes a pre-run safety inspection prior to each scheduled transportation run, as per specified standards (including checking gas, oil, water, lights, brakes and tires). Completes a post-run inspection for sleeping students, damaged equipment, lost or forgotten items, or other problems relative to the care and upkeep of the equipment. Regulates heating and ventilating systems for the comfort of all passengers. Maintains order and discipline for the assigned students being transported. Complies with all local, state and federal transportation laws and regulations for the safe operation of the school bus being driven (physical disabilities may require an employee to obtain an approved waiver from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation). Reports immediately all perceived mechanical, electrical or other malfunctions which may interfere with the safe operation of the District’s equipment. Reports all accidents (personnel, student, and/or vehicular) and all incidents of misbehavior by students being transported to and from school or a school-related activity. Maintains and exhibits current knowledge in those areas related to the performance of job duties, including matters dealing with safety regulations and procedures (including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and first aid), commercial driving license regulations, drug and alcohol testing requirements under the Omnibus Transportation Act and all other applicable policies and procedures and through information presented through attendance at District in-service programs and safety meetings.

- Recognizes the need to place the welfare and safety of the students and staff served at a high priority in the conduct of the job. Observes proper safety procedures and use of safety equipment relative to the performance of the job.
- Possesses the ability to use transportation equipment and to recognize and report problems in the normal operation of same.
- Possesses the knowledge to utilize and maintain the proper equipment to ensure completion of housecleaning assignments, to include cleaning of the vehicle’s interior, window areas, seats and mirrors.

- Attends all scheduled employee in-service programs and safety meetings provided by the district.
- Maintains high standards of appearance and attire.
- Notifies the Director of Transportation and Assistant Superintendent of any driving violations and/or charges as per Act 124.
