What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Teacher position at Bradford Elementary School?
Bradford Elementary School is seeking a classroom Teacher in a self-contained classroom. The average homeroom size of 15 allows for flexible groupings and project-based learning. The lower grade core of teachers in Kindergarten- 2 work closely to align their scope and sequence. We use Wonders and Illustrative Mathematics to support core instruction. New teachers can expect a mentor with weekly meetings for the first year, two years of All Learner’s Network (math instruction and coaching) and/or a year of coaching in writing instruction as part of universal design for learning.
Educator voice and leadership opportunities are found in our current teacher-driven passion projects: student wellness, implicit bias and belonging, data driven decision making and aligning practices to prepare students for middle school. Outdoor education is a huge part of our work, with multiple outdoor classrooms. Several grades, including 2nd grade, commit to once a week outdoor learning. Embedded technology and a vibrant unified arts program engage staff and student learning in surprising and fun-filled ways.
