Responsibilities
As Chief of Staff, you will:
- Lead and guide the veterinary team in providing high-quality medicine and excellent client care, fostering stronger bonds with our clients.
- Ensure optimal patient care by managing and supporting associates in clear communication, treatment plans, diagnostics, and accurate medical record keeping.
- Oversee and actively manage associates’ clinical and professional performance to ensure high standards of practice.
- Mentor associates, the hospital manager, and support staff in their personal, clinical, professional, and financial goals.
- Set clear and achievable expectations for delivering the best medicine and exceptional service, holding the team accountable to these standards.
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager to determine and execute management priorities.
- Ensure the clinic’s facility is meticulously maintained, including common areas, equipment, and cleanliness of the parking lot.
- Drive initiatives to increase visit volume and revenue from existing and new clients.
- Oversee cost controls and work to increase overall practice health and profitability.
- Coach associates on client communication techniques, enhancing compliance with clinical recommendations.
- Actively work to promote the hospital’s reputation, attracting new clients and encouraging client referrals.
- Proactively manage staffing needs, ensuring there are no gaps in coverage.
- Be a role model, demonstrating enthusiasm, honesty, and reliability as a leader and team player.
Qualifications
- DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school.
- Experience in small-animal practice and a strong commitment to high-quality medicine.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and support a diverse team.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on both client care and team development.
- A passion for excellence in patient care and a dedication to improving the practice’s performance.
- Ability to build and maintain a positive clinic culture where collaboration and mentorship are at the core.
