We have 3 locations with openings. Windham, Merrimack, Manchester.
Vehicle and classroom instruction. 21yrs Holding a valid license for 5 consecutive years with no more than 3 driving violations in the last year and a clean criminal record. Applicant must be punctual and patient. Required to attend 3 college courses (online) before receiving certification.
Certification Requirements
Provisional Instructor Certificate
(valid two years)
- High school graduate or high school equivalency
- Complete three, three-credit courses at
White Mountain Community with a grade of 75 or higher:
Introduction to Traffic Safety, Methods of Teaching Driver Education and Traffic Safety, In-Vehicle Driver Education Methods
- Valid driver’s license for the class of vehicle in which applicant desires to instruct
- A minimum of five consecutive years of licensed driving experience
- Must be of good character, reputation, and fitness to instruct driver education
- Current physical exam, repeated every three years
- Submit a notarized criminal history record release form and a complete set of fingerprints
Standard Instructor Certificate
(valid three years)
- Meet the standards for a provisional secondary school certificate (above)
- Submits a completed application, along with the appropriate fee
- Has no disqualifying convictions on the criminal history record check
- Complete a supervised teaching experience in New Hampshire during the past two years including a minimum of 60 hours of classroom and 240 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction
- Obtain six credits of college-level courses designed to meet competencies in Saf-C 3103.02b-e with a grade of 75 or higher
- Is physically capable of providing driver education instruction
- Has not been subject to an administrative action by the department of safety during the period of driver education provisional certification
To the New Hampshire Commercial Driving Schools, Driver Educators, and potential candidates:
To assist the Driver Education Community, the White Mountains Community College would like to announce that we will be offering the three required courses to apply for a New Hampshire Driver Education Provisional Certificate in the Summer Semester. The plan is currently to run the three courses continually provided that the enrollment will sustain them.
The three provisional courses no longer have prerequisites, so upon hiring an instructor candidate, they can apply to enroll in the next available class.

The following courses will be offered throughout the year to assist schools in hiring new instructors. There are no prerequisites for any of these classes.
DEDI101W - Intro to Traffic Safety
DEDI103W - Driver Ed. Classroom Methods
DEDI105W - In-Vehicle Driver Ed. Methods
Example: The Fall Semester will begin immediately after these courses end, so if you hired a person who started with In-Classroom Methods in June, they could finish with Intro to Traffic Safety in the Fall.
