Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd shift

 Position Descriptions

 Job Title: Maintenance Technician

 Division: Operations                                                   Reports to:  Maintenance Manager

 Job Function:   Maintain operation of Bar Soap production line equipment.  

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Set up when maintenance repairs are identified
2. Respond to maintenance repair requests from the production
3. Maintains machine records by recording service and repairs
4. Review and complete Work Orders on a daily basis   
5. Establish the  root cause of machine failure during maintenance repairs 
6. Provide training and development to Maintenance Tech I
7. Establish a plan to prevent repeat failure based on the root cause 
8. Machine parts, fabricate, and weld as directed by the Maintenance Manager
9. Assist with facility maintenance and other activities as directed by the Maintenance Manager
10. Review operation and make suggestions to improve the process, follow up until the project is completed
11. Assist production in maintaining quality standards
12. Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures
13. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures
14. Equipment PM, repair, and installation
15. Other activities as directed by the Maintenance Tech level 3 or Maintenance Manager

4. Management personnel       

 Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. High school education requires a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary schooling.
2. 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. 
3. Capable of functioning with little supervision.
4. High Mechanical, Welding, & Fabrication skills.
5. Good Electrical skills
6. Able to read engineering drawings
7. Able to communicate effectively and have strong team collaboration skills
8. Able to operate all machinery on the production floor
9. General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
10. Capable of physical effort. Will spend a significant number of hours in a shop floor environment.
11. General knowledge of company policies and procedures.
12. Capable of extended hour commitment and on-call at all times.  
13. Capable of completing full setup (Press through Packaging) of every machine

 Working Conditions:

1. Constant exposure to the manufacturing environment.
2. Potentially cold environment.
3. Potential heavy lifting.
