Network Security Analyst

Primary Function

The Network Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our network and data by monitoring, analyzing, and securing our network infrastructure. This role will play a crucial role in defending against cybersecurity threats and ensuring the smooth and secure operation of our network systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and respond to security incidents, providing timely and accurate resolutions.
• Implement, maintain, and optimize security measures to protect the organization’s network infrastructure.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend security solutions to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that security protocols are followed across all network and IT systems.
• Perform routine network security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of network security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, security controls, and incident reports.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and coordinate penetration testing to assess the effectiveness of existing security measures.
• Conduct security awareness training.
• Keep current with emerging network security threats, trends, and technology developments to ensure proactive defense measures.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security or equivalent
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a network security or IT security role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to security incidents
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with technical and non-technical teams
• Familiarity with Palo Alto Firewalls, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting preferred
• Experience with NAC (Network Access Control) and NDR (Network Detection and Response) tools to enhance network security posture preferred
• Proficiency in using a SIEM for security monitoring, log analysis, and incident response preferred
• Experience with EDR solutions to monitor and respond to advanced security threats across the network preferred
• Experience with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training platform preferred
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS preferred
• Experience with network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN technologies preferred
• Strong understanding of routing and switching concepts, network security technologies, and enterprise network environments preferred
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
