Position Overview: As a Furnace Operator Helper you will assist the Furnace Operator within the melting department to support overall plant production. The Furnace Operator Helper will perform duties under the direction of the Furnace Operator and Melting Supervisor in all stages of the melt process.

Position Overview: As a Furnace Operator Helper you will assist the Furnace Operator within the melting department to support overall plant production. The Furnace Operator Helper will perform duties under the direction of the Furnace Operator and Melting Supervisor in all stages of the melt process.
SHIFT: 1st Shift
PAY: $22.18 - $24.39
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Set nozzles into ladles and patch ladles.
- Set rod into ladles and understand which rod to set in different ladles.
- Operate and understand all furnace controls.
- Perform oxygen lance and boil pipe when necessary.
- Use ladle burners when needed and understand how they work.
- Perform regular clean out of ladles.
- Operate gantry crane.
- Operate a bobcat or skid loader.
- Operate deck scales.
- Load lime and coal whenever needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred 1-2 years’ experience with melting metal operations.
- Preferred 1-2 years’ experience working in hot environments.
- Safety oriented in nature.
- Able to work around hot temperatures for extended periods.
- Process oriented and attention to detail.
