Bradley’s Banking & Financial Services Practice Group is seeking to add an energetic, collaborative junior associate for its Washington, DC office who will focus on mortgage lending, servicing, and financial services licensing matters. In particular, we are seeking candidates with a strong working knowledge of the federal and state compliance laws related to mortgage lending and servicing, or other financial services sectors including consumer finance, motor vehicles, and money transmission, or a desire to focus in this area. In addition to associate candidates, staff attorney candidates will also be considered.
The associate’s primary responsibilities will include assisting with all aspects of licensing matters, including licensing new companies, assisting with changes of ownership, and evaluating licensing obligations for financial services companies in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. This will include all aspects of licensing pertaining to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry, including completing applications and supervising paralegals who do so. The position also will include extensive legal research, direct interaction with clients and regulatory agencies, and drafting of formal and informal correspondence and memoranda.
Candidates must have strong academic credentials, excellent communication and legal research, writing, and analytical skills, strong computer skills, and, most importantly, have a strong work ethic and a team player mentality. In addition, managing multiple projects simultaneously is an essential skill.

Job Requirements:
- This position is for our Washington, DC office.
- 1-2 years of sophisticated licensing experience, mortgage or financial services licensing experience is a bonus. Individuals without any direct experience will be considered.
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates should be detail oriented and maintain a strong work ethic.
- Superior academic credentials from an accredited law school.
In compliance with the Wage Transparency Act, we disclose that the salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $150,000 - $215,000 annually.
