Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Technology Training Manager, the Senior Technology Trainer delivers end-user training on all firm-standard software and hardware for both newly hired and existing lawyers and staff. Plans for and delivers one-on-one technical training and performance coaching. Provides technical and operational support during the design, development, evaluation, and promotion of training and related initiatives of the firm. The Senior Technology Trainer is responsible for creating training plans for new courses.
Position Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Provide mentorship to other trainers regarding training delivery and content development
- Delivers input into training methods for new hire, ongoing, and new product training
- Delegate non-priority tasks effectively
- Assume duties and responsibilities of Technology Training Manager when he/she is not available
Training and Development
- Plan and deliver in person, remote, and one-on-one training to all attorneys and staff
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to resolve and train complex technical and process issues
- Coordinate follow-up training sessions
- Provide ongoing support as needed by end users
- Conduct new hire training and orientation as needed
- Conduct regular workshops and training classes on technical applications and processes
- Promote best practices and coach on how to utilize technology and related standards
- Coordinate with Human Resources about staff technical capabilities and develop learning action plans to address any issues
Curriculum Development
- Collaborate on the design, development, and review of curriculum and training documentation for application workflows and software upgrades
- Assist the Technology Training Manager with the planning and development of specialized training
- Design and develop eLearning content in Adobe Captivate using modern Instructional Design principles
- Utilize advanced knowledge of Camtasia and SnagIT in content development
Other Duties
- Participate in IT projects for new applications and product upgrades
- Assist with maintenance of class schedules, attendance, and feedback in the firm’s Learning Management System (LMS)
- Respond to special requests and coordinate response to need
- Recommend areas for improvement to achieve and deliver higher quality service to our end-users.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, required
- Training delivery and content development experience required
- Previous law firm experience is required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe products, most importantly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat
- Proficient with the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems
- Proficient with Adobe Captivate and TechSmith Camtasia
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment
