What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Bradley Company?
Overview
The Custodian is responsible for all phases of the custodial care of the property including, but not limited to, general cleaning of offices, vacant units, hallways, common areas, trash removal.
Schedule: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm
Location: Student Housing
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas such as offices, restrooms, vacant units, and common areas
- Complete all tasks on the apartment cleaning checklist within five (5) days of vacancy to prepare for new tenants
- Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming
- Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
- Report maintenance issues such as broken fixtures, leaks, and damages
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers
- Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment as needed
- Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid U.S. Driver’s License, and auto insurance
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Superior customer service, communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Pass motor vehicle and criminal background check
