The Property Accountant will manage tasks such as monthly bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and prepare journal entries for reclassifications and accruals. They will assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and support financial analysis for ad hoc projects. Effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders is key.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for assigned properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Cash Management: Monitor and record cash flow transactions, including rent collections and operating expenses, ensuring accurate cash balances.
- Reclasses and Accruals: Prepare journal entries for reclassifications and accruals as necessary, ensuring proper allocation of expenses and revenues.
- Financial Review: Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and comply with accounting standards.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation of financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as needed, providing support for financial analysis and reporting functions
- Effective Communication: Proven history of timely communication via email, Microsoft Teams, and between several departments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with others at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with basic accounting functions is a plus but not required.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of business accounting experience required.
- Previous experience in accounting or the real estate industry is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Yardi, MRI, RealPage, Resman or other accounting software is a plus
- Hungry to Learn: Demonstrates enthusiasm for acquiring new skills and knowledge in accounting and the real estate industry.
