JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for a level of care assessment; and, the admission or referral of potential patients to the appropriate resources for their clinical needs. For external referrals the successful candidate is responsible for reviewing clinical information with a psychiatric provider, safety planning and networking resources. For Behavioral Health admissions the successful candidate will coordinate with the psychiatric providers, business office and treatment programs to facilitate a seamless admission process. They will also maintain, monitor and coordinate phone, electronic and written correspondence between referral sources and hospital.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Eligible candidates must be a Registered Nurse, LPN in the state of TN OR have a Masters degree in a mental health/counseling/social work related field. While not essential for consideration, TN licensure for a non-RN candidate is preferred. Candidates with an LPN will be responsible for the collection of clinical information necessary to facilitate admission decisions while under the supervision of an RN. Candidates with a Bachelors degree in the process of completing a Masters degree in a related field of study who has commensurate mental health/social work/counseling work experience will be considered. Bachelors level candidates will be responsible for the collection of clinical information necessary to facilitate admission decisions while under the supervision of an RN or Masters prepared professional.
Experience: Desirable characteristics included at least two years of experience in a hospital, MH clinic/practice or medically related environment.
Licenses/Certificates: If RN - current Tennessee or Compact State registered nurse license required. License preferred for other disciplines. If LPN- current Tennessee license required. For Masters degree candidates independent practice license is preferred but not required. Current SAMA certification. If not SAMA certified, must acquire within 90 days of hire.
