Bradley Professional is currently seeking a Senior Logistics Manager for a great company in Charlotte, NC!
Our ideal candidate will be someone that comes from a Manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics specifically in Import Logistics in Asia and Mexico.
The Senior Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the importation of goods and materials for the company. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders and custom brokers to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of products. In addition, the Senior Logistics role will manage all transportation activities related to inbound and outbound flow of the Distribution Center, from point of origin to destination.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the import process from point of origin to destination, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely shipments of goods
- Ensure all import activities comply with international trade regulations and customs requirements
- Review import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices and customs declarations
- Establish controls to ensure goods pass through customs and are cleared for delivery
- Monitor and control import costs, negotiate with suppliers, service providers and freight forwarders to achieve the best cost, while balancing service requirements.
- Work closely with the supply planning team to ensure accurate tracking and management of imported goods.
- Address and resolve any issues or delays in the import process
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on import activities and performance metrics
- Identify and select best in class third party service providers to partner with on a Global scale
- Choose domestic transportation carriers, negotiating contracts and rates.
- Coordinate with customer on routing requirements and preferred carrier relationships
- Develop freight budget and implement freight spend tracking and analysis
- Work closely with Sales and DC Ops team on planning outbound loads, maximizing ship volume
- Coordinate and provide guidance to component suppliers on shipping product into Mexico factor for production
- Coordinate all outbound product shipment from MX to US.
- Responsible for all cross border activities with 3rd party logistics providers & carriers
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation or Business Administration
- 5 years of experience in Import Logistics and Transportation
- Preferred experience working with manufacturers in Asia and Mexico
- Expert applied knowledge of Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation (domestic and international)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite-advanced skills with MS Excel preferred
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
