What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bid Specialist position at Brady Industries?
Bid Specialist will work collaboratively with their team to ensure timely submission of bids, regional quotes and special pricing opportunities to sales and customers. They will interact with suppliers, procurement, contracts, pricing and marketing to optimize margins. The position requires an understanding of Excell or program working with spreadsheets. There are heavy administrative duties, personal organization and a positive customer focused attitude is vital. Specific bid training is available.
Responsibilities Include
- Bid Preparation: Develop and prepare comprehensive bids and proposals
- Market Research: Conduct thorough research to understand market trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team, project managers, and other departments to gather the necessary information and ensure the accuracy of bid documents.
- Client Interaction: Maintain effective communication with clients to clarify requirements, answer queries, and provide updates on bid status.
- Compliance: Ensure all bids comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of all bids, proposals, and related documents for future reference and analysis.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the bid process and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and success rates.
- Monitor and respond to all incoming email for the bid department
- Monitor opportunities for margin increases on all bids
- Ability to solicit vendor deviations as appropriate
- Responsible for bid onboarding process with procurement
- Monitor movement of bid specific special inventory
The ideal candidate will have:
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Detailed oriented
- Understand market segment and contract deviations
- Working understanding of national or regional buying GPOs
- Understanding of vendor sample processes and requirements
