We have an opening for an Accountant-Bookkeeper to join our team in Columbus, OH. The Accountant-Bookkeeper works as part of a team of accountants that specializes in business solutions and provides outsourcing services to various clients. Working closely with our clientele and staff, they assist with the preparation and reporting of financials (GL, A/P and A/R), offering expertise in full-cycle accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll. Some work will be completed in the Brady Ware office, and some may be at a client site.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional communication and service support to our clients; confidentiality, honesty and ethical behavior is of the utmost importance.
- Collaborate with staff and senior accountants to maintain company ledgers for multiple clients to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal law.
- General Ledger Activity: journal entries, month-end procedures, financial statements preparation and year-end procedures for multiple clients.
- Accounts Payable: input invoices, assignment of account codes, preparation of checks and various bank account reconciliations.
- Accounts Receivable: produce and input invoices, cash receipts, deposits and collections and maintenance of detailed client ledgers.
- Administrative duties: data entry, review and accounting for expense reports; assisting our clients and team with various accounting functions.
- Payroll processing and tax preparation.
Requirements
- 3 years of full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Associate’s degree or working experience equivalent.
- Developed skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Working proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Online.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven success providing client services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of accounting experience within public accounting or professional services.
- Pro Advisor Certified in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
- Working proficiency in multiple accounting and billing platforms.
- Payroll processing experience and knowledge of payroll laws for various states.
- Payroll tax preparation and income tax preparation would be a plus.
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
