We’re currently seeking an experienced Senior Associate for our Business Valuations, Forensic, and Litigation Support team. This is a growing, entrepreneurial team, whose mission is to bring clarity to business owners and executives facing critical business decisions in finance, value, transactions and value enhancement. Senior Associates work on a variety of assignments, including business enterprise valuations, equity valuations, business combinations (ASC 805), fair value (ASC 820), intellectual property valuations, stock option valuations, and dispute consulting.
Responsibilities:
Business Valuation:
- Historical and forecasted cash flow analysis, application of transaction multiples, industry and economic research, and related valuation adjustments.
- Development of written reports for use in management, income tax, litigation, and transaction planning.
Forensic Accounting:
- Investigation of the propriety of transactions.
- Calculation of economic damages, forensic accounting, business valuation, and other financial analyses related to client disputes, and assistance with expert witness services.
- Develop written reports and schedules for use in litigation proceedings.
Transaction Advisory:
- Perform accounting and financial analysis, due diligence, quality of earnings, accounting adjustments, business combinations and carve-out accounting, financial trends and ratios, customer and business segment analysis, working capital and debt analysis, and other related assessments.
- Develop transaction advisory reports specific to key issues such as quality of earnings, financial datebooks, and due diligence reports.
- Assist in identifying engagement scope, management of day–to-day activities of completing work, and take ownership of overall quality control of client deliverables.
- Conduct meaningful analysis and gather necessary information from stakeholders on a variety of accounting and finance related areas throughout the engagement process.
- Monitor workload to meet billable hour expectations and perform timely reviews of work products prior to submission to a Director/Associate.
- Maintain the required Continuing Professional Education for firm and licensing requirements.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field is required.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in business valuation, transaction advisory, financial audit and assurance, forensic accounting and/or forensic investigations
- Experience working in public accounting or consulting.
- Must be technically proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills to professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals both internally and externally.
- Must possess a high degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years of experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including the income approach, market approach and asset approach.
- Key experience including business valuation modeling, forensic investigations. fair value accounting, and litigation support.
- Preferred credentials include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF), and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
