What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Chemist position at BRADY WORLDWIDE INC?
Brady Corp is seeking a Lead Chemist who will be a highly influential and visible member of the Materials R&D department with responsibility for providing hands-on research expertise to develop new products through commercial launch and support existing products within the Global Identification Solutions business (BradyID.com). This individual will also provide mentorship to junior R&D staff. Technical areas of focus will be in pressure sensitive adhesives, print receptive coatings, and other associated technologies.
Requirements:- Lead and supervise research projects that deliver business results.
- Work within and/or lead multiple cross functional teams to enable new product development project success.
- Lead various project activities through a defined stage gate process.
- Identify & explore new technologies in material design or process for future application to Brady operations and/or target markets.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of these technologies.
- Develop an understanding of structure-property relationships for technologies in material design.
- Assist in design for manufacturability and scale-up activities.
- Actively research and identify relevant intellectual property and patentable inventions.
- Assure and validate proper documentation of responsible technical and experimental activities.
