Demand Planner

The Demand Planner is responsible for working within a multi-distribution center/multi-state/high SKU environment. Primarily responsible for inventory management and purchasing administration for assigned product lines within policy guidelines to achieve targeted objectives for inventory turns and customer service.

Responsibilities Include:

• As required, provide Data Integrity personnel with necessary Item Master file information for all new and existing products.
• Plans and schedules utilizing AS400 (Blue Zone) distribution software, purchases and re-orders of sku’s within prescribed vendor lines or responsibility.
• Develops and exploits periodic favorable buying opportunities to minimize average cost of acquisition yet maintain average targeted inventory turns.
• Ensures that intra-company transfer orders are accurate and timely.
• Manage the process to increase inventory turns and order fill rate and measures/reports performance of same to senior management.
• Takes actions to reduce amounts of idle and excess inventory.
• Resolves A/P discrepancies between PO cost and vendor invoices.
• Coordinated delivery and receipt of goods with warehouse operations personnel.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least three years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management experience desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Inventory/Production Planning experience preferred.
