Position Overview
The Pool Manager is a well-known member facing employee with strong leadership skills who is responsible for the policies, procedures and administration of the pool complex. The Pool Manager works closely with the Aquatics Manager.
The Pool Manager and the Aquatics Manager at Brae Burn Country Club share responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the pool facility and for the health, safety and welfare of those using the club’s swimming pool. The Pool Manager and the Aquatics Manager are responsible for promoting the pool as a fun and hospitable environment for all club members in accordance with the policies, and procedures outlined by the Pool Committee, Board of Directors and club management. The highest priority for the pool management team is life and water safety and holding pool staff accountable to the highest possible standard when it comes to life and water safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
· Supervising the activities of pool staff and swimmers by enforcing the rules and regulations consistent with the operation of pool facilities and those specific set forth by the Brae Burn Country Club Pool Committee.
· Interviewing, hiring (in conjunction with the Clubhouse Managers), scheduling and supervising all pool staff.
· Processing bi-weekly payroll with Clubhouse Manager.
· Plan and preparing, in coordination with the appropriate club personnel, the pool for its seasonal opening and closing.
· Management, leadership, and oversight of private and weekly pool event execution, working directly with Clubhouse and Food & Beverage Managers.
· Informing swimmers of improper activities or hazards.
· Notifying club management and Chair of the Pool Committee of any accidents, rescues or problems that arise.
· Conduct inventory and recommend purchase of all necessary supplies and equipment.
· Notifying club management and Chair of the Pool Committee of any equipment that need repair.
· Successfully and positively performing within work team dynamics.
· Interact with all Brae Burn members and their guests in a professional, hospitable and respectful manner always, guiding all pool staff to do the same.
· Adherence to Brae Burn’s expectations encompassing communication, working relations, job reliability and initiative, safety, accomplishment of work tasks and supervision.
· Overseeing the general custodial cleaning of entire pool facility, including vacuuming, hosing of desks, cleaning filters, cleaning locker rooms and restrooms, etc., as needed.
· Maintaining cleanliness of entire pool complex.
· Maintaining and completing accurate records of pool operations, including time sheets, pool temperature, pool water quality (pH, chlorine levels), accidents, incidents (behavioral and otherwise), attendance (including guests), finances and required records for Health Department.
· Ensuring all guest charges and swim lessons are properly charged.
· Provide any information pertaining to pool operations as requested by club management and/or Chair of the Pool Committee.
· Assisting members and guests in a professional and courteous manner
· Any other additional duties required by club management or the Chair of the Pool Committee
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Certifications
· Certified Pool Operator (paid for by BBCC)
· CPR/AED Certification
· Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability, attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work well with a diverse team.
· Honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Position Requirements
· Previous pool experience is preferred, but not required.
· This role requires the ability to work from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend as well as on nights, weekends and/or holidays.
