Equipment Mechanic

Expectations/ Responsibilities for the Mechanic position include, but are not limited to: Be able to perform preventative maintenance on Company equipment (Trucks, Tri-Axle trucks, forklifts, and Caterpillar and Komatsu heavy equipment) Possess their own tools Have knowledge of modern technology (electronics) used in vehicles and heavy equipment Proven knowledge in hydraulic systems Clean driving record Required Knowledge/Skills/Aptitudes: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience Must be safety minded Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position based in Haledon, NJ Period exposure to high levels of noise, dust and grease Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 6am to 4pm; Saturday work will also be required dependent on the demand of the business. Overtime is paid after eight (8) hours are worked daily Physical Demands: Perform all job-related functions with clear understanding of relative physical demands Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls Standing for long periods of time, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, crouch/crawl Ability to distinguish and recognize the difference of sounds Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects Be physically active for long periods with ability to balance or stay upright in an unstable position Please note that although every effort has been made to craft a thorough job description, this is a fluid document which will be updated, modified, and added-to, as necessary.
