As we continue to pursue new goals, it's an exciting time to join the Bragg team. We are currently hiring an Accounting Operations Manager in our Long Beach, CA headquarters.
Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager, reporting to the Controller, is a critical member of the accounting team who will play an impactful role in the day-to-day accounting operations at the company. This position will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team, partnering with operations to analyze vendor spend and job costs, responsible for relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, preparing and reviewing various balance sheet reconciliations, and driving the company’s wider finance transformation. The Accounting Manager will be an advocate for process improvement, transparency, teamwork, maintaining high quality work product within the department, and will be key to the company’s finance transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management: Manage the Accounts Payable team across the enterprise spanning multiple divisions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments, employee reimbursements, and accounting entries.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement procure-to-pay process improvements in partnership with the procurement team, including journal entry and accounts payable entry automation.
- Vendor Management: Timely vendor dispute resolution partnering with operations, procurement, and external vendors to ensure business relationships are fostered while issues are addressed.
- Invoice & Payment Review: Review invoice batches and payment runs for accuracy and manage payments relative to cash flow.
- Accounting Operations: Responsible for certain day-to-day accounting tasks, including month-end close, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Supplier Relations: Maintain and manage supplier relations, including vendor applications and tax forms.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and coaching to ensure high team performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
- Professional Experience: 5 years experience in an accounting role handling financial analysis and general ledger. Experience managing a corporate accounts payable team and experience with accounting for heavy equipment purchases, costing, and utilization.
- Companies Experience: Worked in an accounting department at a company with revenues over $400M, and experience in the construction or relevant industry.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate across departments within large organizations and experience collaborating with operations.
- Financial Systems Expertise: Experience with financial systems featuring multiple reporting dimensions and an advanced Excel user. ERP implementation experience preferred.
- Process Improvement: Involvement in accounting department transformations and/or designing and implementing process improvements (Lean, Six-Sigma, Kaizen experience a plus).
Work Environment
- Location: Ability to work in our Corporate Headquarters in Long Beach, CA.
- Physical Demands: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
