What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rigging Engineer I position at Bragg Companies?

As we continue to pursue new goals, it’s an exciting time to join the Bragg team. We are currently hiring a Rigging Engineer I in our Long Beach, CA branch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lift Plan Development: Develop lift plans for load handling activities using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Rigging Analysis: Perform rigging details and analysis.
- Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
- Document Preparation: Assist in preparing design development and construction documents.
- Consultation: Consult with the supervisor on unusual problems or developments.
- Communication: Keep senior staff informed of important and relevant planning/design decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering degree or higher.
- Certification: FE/EIT certification preferred.
- CAD Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
- MS Office Proficiency: Competent in using MS Office.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-Motivation: Self-starter, highly motivated, requiring minimal supervision, and able to work well in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Software Knowledge: Knowledge of RISA 3D, Mathcad, MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D, and Revit.
- Construction Background: 1 to 2 years of experience in rigging.
- Lifting and Transport Plans: Experience preparing or evaluating critical lifting and heavy transport plans with industry software.
- Code Knowledge: Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AISC, ASCE codes and their application.
- Design Experience: Experience with RISA 3D or SolidWorks Simulation FEA (or equivalent).
Work Environment
- Travel: Must be able to travel to project site when needed. For the purposes of driving, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Location: Ability to work at our Headquarters in Long Beach, CA.
- Physical Demands: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
