Position Overview:
The Rigging Operations Manager will be based in our Phoenix, AZ branch and will report directly to the Branch Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing the success of our Rigging services, including operational and employee management for the rigging line of business. The position is responsible for managing dispatch operations, rigging crews, and equipment, as well as collaborating with maintenance and support departments to ensure smooth operations. As the Rigging Operations Manager, you will drive operational efficiency, promote safety, and inspire a culture of excellence within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Management: Oversee and support department activities, ensuring the necessary resources are secured to meet operational needs, and promote Bragg Companies’ values of safety and teamwork.
- Dispatching and Scheduling: Supervise dispatch personnel, manage assignments, and ensure optimal scheduling for rigging operations to meet project timelines.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Partner with the warehouse manager to streamline inventory processes and oversee facility and yard maintenance, ensuring seamless operations.
- Purchasing and Vendor Management: Handle purchasing activities for rigging operations, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the delivery of quality services in a timely manner.
- Hiring and Training: Oversee the hiring process, focusing on building a strong team and ensuring that safety training is provided to all employees in accordance with Bragg’s high standards.
- Invoice and Payment Approval: Manage vendor invoice workflow, ensuring timely payment approvals and proper financial documentation.
- Field Operations Management: Ensure the proper setup, performance, and safety of field operations. Create work orders for incoming inventory and manage their execution efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: A degree in Business Management or a related field with at least 1 year of experience in construction management, or 3-5 years in crane, rigging, heavy transport, or related industries.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Proven experience in leading and coaching teams with integrity, maintaining ethical standards and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, Labor Contracts, and other related regulations.
- Safety Commitment: A strong commitment to safety and ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with industry-specific tools and software is a plus.
- Communication and Multitasking: Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Driving: Ability to meet the clearance requirements for driving company vehicles for business purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sales and Negotiation: Experience in outside sales, negotiation, and influencing decision-makers is an asset.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy lifting, crane operations, and construction business management.
- Accountability and Learning: Demonstrated willingness to learn new aspects of the business with a high level of accountability.
- Financial and Business Acumen: Experience with profit and loss management, and a proven ability to manage budgets effectively.
Work Environment:
- Travel: Periodic travel required to manage operations at various project sites and locations.
- Location: Position based at the Phoenix, AZ branch with occasional travel to project sites across the region.
- Physical Conditions: Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to handle equipment or tools. Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds is required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
