Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is a critical member of the general ledger accounting team who will play an impactful role in the day-to-day accounting operations at the company. This position will be responsible for recording accounting transactions, preparing various balance sheet reconciliations, and collaborating with other team members during month end close. The Senior Accountant will be an advocate for process improvement, transparency, teamwork, maintaining high quality work product within the department, and will be key to the company’s finance transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Oversee general accounting tasks, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Handle reconciliations for leases (ASC 842), notes payable, prepaid and accrued expenses, and fixed assets.
- Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries with multi-dimensional general ledger coding.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to journal entry preparation and posting processes.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and coaching to ensure high team performance.
- Close and Audit Preparation: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for close and audit.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
- Professional Experience: 4 years in an accounting role with general ledger and reconciliations responsibilities.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP), Microsoft D365, and Sage or other ERPs.
- Communication Skills: Ability to identify and articulate challenges in day-to-day accounting tasks to team leadership for process improvements.
- Financial Systems Expertise: Experience with financial systems featuring multiple reporting dimensions.
- Experience in Large Companies: Worked at companies with revenues over $300M
Preferred Experience
- Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Process Improvement: Involvement in accounting department transformations and/or designing and implementing process improvements.
Work Environment
- Location: Ability to work in our Corporate Headquarters in Long Beach, CA.
- Physical Demands: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.

- Salary: $80,000-$110,000 per year (The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position. The individual salary will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.)
