Job Summary :
We are looking for a seasoned and detail-oriented Lead Data Analyst to take charge of our critical database environments. The ideal candidate will bring robust technical skills in database management, performance optimization, and data security. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of databases while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance overall system performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.
Key Responsibilities :
- Database Management and Optimization :
Administer and maintain various databases, including Oracle DB, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake.
Optimize database performance and implement effective indexing strategies.Conduct regular database backups and disaster recovery procedures.Implement best practices for database security, focusing on access controls and encryption.Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting :Monitor database performance and utilization to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Troubleshoot production database issues effectively.Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage database resources efficiently.Database Architecture and Design :Assist in designing scalable and efficient database structures.
Support the planning and implementation of new database systems or upgrades.Oversee database migration projects, ensuring data integrity.Integration and Data Pipelines :Manage data pipelines and integrations to ensure seamless data flow.
Utilize integration tools like Talend for efficient data transfer.Work with application teams to ensure effective data integration with business applications.Reporting and Analytics Support :Collaborate with business and analytics teams to optimize reporting tools such as MicroStrategy and Power BI.
Create custom database views and stored procedures to support analytics needs.Automation and Continuous Improvement :Leverage automation tools to enhance database management tasks.
Continuously assess and improve database performance and security protocols.Identify and implement process improvements in database administration.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.10 years of robust experience in database administration and production support.Expertise in major database management systems (Oracle DB, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).Proven track record of database optimization and performance tuning.Experience with effective backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.Familiarity with integration tools, such as Talend.Strong understanding of SQL, stored procedures, and database scripting.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, along with strong communication abilities.Preferred Skills :
Certifications in database administration (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).Experience with automation and performance monitoring tools.Prior exposure to reporting tools like MicroStrategy and Power BI is a definite plus.Location : Morristown, NJ
