What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician Technician position at Brain & Eye Connection Vision Clinic?
Brain & Eye Connection Vision Clinic is looking for a seasoned optician to add to our growing team.
Optician Responsibilities:
- Greet all patients in a pleasant, and professional manner.
- Be professional in appearance and manner.
- Assist patients in selecting the appropriate eyewear based on what the doctor is recommending.
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frame materials to help them make informed decisions.
- Take all optical measurements needed to make a pair of eyeglass lenses.
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed, including replacing nose pads, temple tips, and screws.
- Respond to phone calls in a professionally and timely.
- Keep the optical shop and frame boards clean and organized.
- Take payments when needed and ensure that they are applied to EMR Software accurately.
- Daily inspection of jobs before they are dispensed. Look for AR, tint, scratches, and power accuracy.
- Call patients to let them know glasses are ready the same day they come in.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment.
- This position will also assist the Optometrist with technician roles as time allows.
Optician Skills are required - 1 year experience. Knowledge of eye anatomy, common eye conditions, and treatment options is a necessity.
Electronic Medical Records Systems: Proficiency in using EMR systems for inventory management and sales transactions.
Experience maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
HIPAA: Knowledge of patient privacy laws and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Medical Coding: Familiarity with medical coding systems for billing vision and medical insurance companies for optical services.
Customer Service Skills: Ability to work effectively with all ages and provide exceptional service and build long-term relationships.
