About the Role:
As a Community Outreach Specialist, you'll be a vital part of our team, driving statewide initiatives to raise awareness about brain injury, provide crucial education, and promote prevention strategies. This role offers the opportunity to:

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Conducting outreach and promoting brain injury awareness, education, and prevention initiatives throughout the state.
- Providing administrative support for educational events, ensuring smooth operations and maximizing impact.
- Representing BIANJ at conferences and events statewide, connecting with key stakeholders and sharing valuable resources.
- Developing and delivering engaging workshops to educate diverse audiences about brain injury and related topics.
- Implementing targeted outreach programs to connect with and support underserved communities.
- Contributing to other important projects and initiatives as needed, allowing for diverse experiences and skill development.
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, ideally in social work, psychology, public health education, or a related field. We value diverse educational backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if your degree is in a different area but you have relevant experience.
- While one year of experience in community outreach or program planning is preferred, we encourage entry-level candidates with a demonstrated passion for community service and strong transferable skills to apply.
- Valid driver's license and access to a car for local travel within Northern New Jersey are essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, enabling you to effectively connect with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of brain injury, concussion, domestic violence, and/or substance abuse is a plus, demonstrating a commitment to related health and social issues.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) are highly valued and will be considered a significant asset.
