What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bulletin 2399 Anticipated Long Term Substitute English Learner Teacher at Braintree High School for 2025-26 SY position at Braintree Public Schools?
OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use the District’s ELE curriculum to implement student-centered lessons
- Provide high quality instruction in English Language Development (ELD) classes;
- Model growth mindset and hold high standards and expectations for all students;
- Monitor the progress of English Learners and Former English Learners and collaborate with content teachers as needed to support and increase students’ academic language proficiencies;
- Develop student success plans for at-risk to students to ensure progress;
- Provide a safe and respectful learning environment that fosters social and emotional competencies and empowers multilingual students to be skilled and competent communicators that actively participate in their school community
- Communicate and engage with families about students’ learning
- Participate in professional development opportunities at the department, school, and district levels as well as monthly department meetings
- Administer intake assessments (WIDA Screener) as needed
- Assist in administering annual ACCESS tests and use results along with other district and school determined measures to inform instructional decisions, monitor students’ progress, and ensure students’ growth and attainment of language and learning objectives
- Assist in maintaining students’ files with necessary documentation according to district and State protocols
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts license in ESL, 5-12, preferred
- Masters’ Degree in ESL, English, Reading, and/or Education, preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, decision making, problem solving, and organizational skil
