What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-8 ELA/ELL Tutor position at Braintrust Tutors?
K-8 ELA & ELL Tutor (In-Person)
As a Tutor with Braintrust Tutors, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by providing high-quality reading interventions. Your role will involve working with students individually or in small groups (1:4) during school hours. You will receive onboarding and materials to effectively implement our intervention programs, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed.
How Tutoring Works:
We partner with schools for 12-week tutoring engagements. Tutoring will occur during the school day, approximately three times a week for 2.5-5 hours a day. This is tentatively scheduled to start on February 24th or soon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in reading to K-8th grade students.
- Implement our intervention programs according to the provided guidelines.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress using our reporting platform.
- Communicate regularly with our Operations team and school staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Two years of teaching/tutoring experience with school-aged children.
- Active or Expired Teaching License.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Reliable and punctual.
